The Virginia Charter, 1606.
The author of the Virginia Charter is King James and his entrepreneurs from England to North America. The audience of this document is the new settlers in North America. The tone of this document is very repetitive and assertive. The purpose of this piece is to inform the people and the leaders of North America of rules and authorization they have to live by. The document is persuasive because the author is very stern as he directs all the rules. The way he presents the document, gives the people no choice but to follow. King James takes the English lifestyles and patterns of London and tries to carry it over to North America, attempting to expand England's growth for his country.
