Be the Change You Wish to See in the World
Be the Change You Wish to See in the WorldWhen looking back on my life so far, I would have to say that spending time to care for others is one of the valuable and best experiences I have had. There is a very large percentage of people throughout the world that spend all their lives on themselves only. They do things that please them; to look better, feel better, and do better. For me, I tend to find pleasure in other people, not just myself.
I recently volunteered to help run a daycare program for inner city, disadvantaged young children. I was among a group of leaders that ran the daycare. Everyday we were there for the young children. We had a lot going on from teaching them how to read, playing all types of fun and positive games and sports, cooking and feeding lunch, and over all trying to be great role models for them to look up to. The young children enjoyed the camp and looked forward to it everyday. I also looked forward to going to camp everyday because I knew I was a positive role model in several lives.
Being the oldest sibling of three, I have learned that someone is always watching what you are doing. I also have older siblings I look up to as role models in my life. No matter what position people are in for life, everyone has some sort of influence in the world. This will affect my contribution to Puget Sound Early College because this is an experience for me to learn how to be a positive attribute to the students around me. I strive for an optimistic lifestyle and want to continue to be a positive role model anywhere and everywhere I go.
